PLANET OF THE APES ORIGINAL ZIRA COSTUME (KIM HUNTER) |
Updated: November 25, 2005
Complete Kim Hunter "Zira" costume from Planet of the Apes mounted on a
custom display with lifelike figure. (TCF, 1968) This original Zira costume
was among the earliest wardrobe pieces made for Planet of the Apes and still
features the marks where the twin metal clips on the leather collar were
removed, plus the super rare leather Glyphs on the chest.
The costume is complete, including the distinctive shoes. Female background
chimp costumes themselves are incredibly rare; this Zira costume is one of
only three known Zira costumes, and is especially desirable. The costume is
currently mounted on a flexible mannequin with a stunning silicon head of
Zira (made using appliances from Hunter's mold), prosthetics-grade glass eyes
and hand punched human hair.
Value: $25,000 - $35,000
